In the last couple of years, third party websites (VRBO, HomeAway, AirBnb, etc) have been charging customers who use their site to book a vacation rental a SERVICE FEE. That fee can range from $170 to $750 (TripAdvisor for the house). By booking directly with me you can avoid their charges and stay at the exact same vacation rental.
Just pick a rental and then check out the rates and the calendar to make sure it is available and then contact me. I will send you a PayPal request for the deposit and email you an agreement. Just sign the agreement and email it back to me. If you aren't familiar with PayPal you can mail me a check or we can use a different platform like Venmo, etc.
Every rental has a door code system. Shortly before you arrive you will receive a CODE (and instructions) that will allow you access to the rental for the time that you are renting. Also, it is very easy to program the door code to your own personal code for your stay.
When you get the door code there will be a timeframe for access. It is usually 4:00 PM arrival on a Saturday and 10:00 AM departure on the following Saturday. If you arrive early you can get groceries, hang out at the pool, go shopping, get something to eat, or hang out at the beach. The cleaning folks will need to get the cleaning done. If they are done and you can't gain access, just contact me and I will try to get you in if it is before 4PM.
We have to rent in weekly increments in Marathon. We use a Saturday to Saturday timeframe. You can arrive late or leave early, it is just that we have to rent in weekly increments as per our rental license.
I would be very surprised, but I would refund all your money.
The Oceanfront Vacation Rentals are in Marathon, Florida. Marathon is in the very middle of the Florida Keys. It is an hour away from Key West and an hour away from Key Largo. It is a laid-back, low crime island.
Marathon has a lot of options for activities. I suggest going to my LINKS page on this website and take a look at all the different things you can do. Everything from biking, snorkeling, fishing, diving, spearfishing, lobstering, hanging out at the pool, eating steaks and seafood, kiteboarding lessons, sightseeing, etc. etc.
Marathon has a Dollar Tree, Winn Dixie, Publix, 2 Walgreens, KMart, Home Depot, KFC, McDonalds, Wendys, IHOP, a lot of excellent Seafood Restaurants and Breakfast Restaurants, a lot of Live Music, Fishing Charters, Seafood Markets, etc. I highly recommend the Dollar Tree for short term stays because everything there is a dollar and it is perfect for vacations.
You can fly into Key West. I think it is a bit spendy, but it is an option. Most people fly into Miami or Fort Lauderdale. I find that Fort Lauderdale is cheaper than Miami from Chicago. Fort Lauderdale is 2.5 hours away from Marathon, and Miami is 2 hours away. There is a Costco in Homestead that can save you some money if you are a member.
Airports usually have rental cars available. I usually use Orbitz (online) to find the best deal. Some rental agencies are at the airport and some are off-site. Just something to be aware of.
